We have been taking resort style holidays for many years, so when we decided to stay in a villa this year, my biggest concern was whether we might have to compromise on cleanliness, quality or service. After spending 10 days here, I can genuinely say that this experience at Elounda Spa Villa completely changed my mind.
First of all, the cleanliness was exceptional. I have stayed in many five-star hotels over the years, and the villa was honestly cleaner and maintained with more attention to detail than many of them. Everything was spotless and very carefully looked after.
The villa itself is beautiful, modern and very tastefully decorated. What I particularly appreciated was that it does not feel like a property that has simply been furnished for commercial rental. It feels as though the owners designed and equipped it with the same care they would give to their own home. The materials, furniture and overall finish are all very high quality.
The kitchen was also very well equipped. Everything we needed for cooking was there, and the quality of the kitchenware was excellent. For a longer stay, this made a real difference and made the villa feel even more like a home rather than a rental property.
The location is also wonderful. It is extremely peaceful, quiet and private, yet you can walk to the nearest beach in just two or three minutes. The beach itself is in the same beautiful bay used by Domes of Elounda, so the setting is really lovely.
However, as beautiful as the villa and location are, what made our stay truly special was the team. Maria was incredible throughout our stay. Whatever I asked, she responded almost immediately and always found a solution. One evening while we were having a barbecue, the gas cylinder ran out. I messaged her simply to ask what we should do, and within around 15 minutes a new cylinder had arrived. That really sums up the level of service.
The villa is absolutely worth staying in, but the people behind it make the experience even better. We felt very well looked after from beginning to end and had a wonderfully relaxing 10 days.
We would happily stay here again and would recommend it without hesitation.
